Our pre-school early childhood education program emphasizes active learning, project based exploration, the use of learning centers, and a focus on developing a wide range of skills across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains. Through language & literacy, students learn letter sounds and sight words.
They will also develop critical thinking skills through lesson activities such as making story predictions and retelling story events. Learning centers give preschool children opportunities to explore arts and crafts, STEM activities, library corners, dramatic play, math manipulatives, and other activities during independent time. There will also be teacher led activities such as circle time and opportunities for project based lessons through the Creative Curriculum lesson activities.
For mathematical concepts children explore basic number sense and recognition. Students will also learn basic counting skills and math like addition and subtraction. Through daily math lessons children will explore patterns, making graphs, and problem solving techniques. For social-emotional learning, preschool children are encouraged to use their words to express how they feel, play well with others, and build good relationships. They also participate in character building lessons, such as kindness and being patient. Students participate in outdoor activities like jumping rope, riding bikes, and throwing a ball to develop their gross motor skills.
During activities in science children conduct experiments, use technology, and try fun engineering challenges. For social studies pre-school students learn about topics such as community helpers (like firefighters and doctors), family structure, basic rules and expectations, different cultures and traditions, season, and the weather. At Brighter Beginnings 4 Kids children are treated with respect through the opportunity to experience growth and independence in the areas of critical thinking, creativity and building self-esteem.
